Moorhead Brothers, Incorporated
(MBI) is a product of a generation’s worth of experience
passed from a father to his two sons. It all started when
Richard “Dickie” Moorhead was younger and started working on
his own and established Moorhead Farms & Forestry in 1977 in
his home town of Blacksburg, SC.
The business originally offered farm services to the
surrounding communities and soon developed a niche market of
clearing and grading virgin timberland for new farmland.
Dickie eventually expanded the company and took on a partner
to help with the additional workload. The new company was a
clearing and grading firm that operated in and around
Charlotte, NC. MW Clearing & Grading grew from a small
construction business at its inception to one of the larger
clearing contractors in the Southeast.
MW became synonymous in the clearing business with a quick
job turnaround, knowledgeable field crews and efficient
project management. Throughout the years Dickie’s two sons,
Richard and Patrick Moorhead learned from their dad the
values that had made the family business a success.
Hard work, integrity and doing what you say you’re going to
do are core principles that have been instilled in the
Moorhead brothers. The family clearing and grading business
has undergone many changes over the years and has adapted to
market demands.
The most recent change is that MW Clearing & Grading has
been rebranded Moorhead Brothers, Incorporated (MBI). We
will still offer site clearing and grading services. As an
extension of our services, MBI will specialize in right of
way services for overhead utilities and the oil & gas
industries.
We credit our safety programs, communications,
new technology, and skilled/experienced employees, and
business relationships as key
factors to the growth we had throughout the Southeast.

License in North and South Carolina for General Contracting,
Highway, Grading, Public Water/Sewer and Building. We are
